Located in Calheta, with a magnificent sea view, Convento das Vinhas takes its name as a tribute to the former Convent of São Sebastião da Calheta, founded in 1670 by the Franciscan Order. This convent was deactivated in 1834 following the extinction of religious orders in Portugal, and today only ruins remain, bearing witness to its historical and religious significance. The structure is a symbol of Calheta’s cultural heritage, preserving memories of the past, and can be observed from our restaurant.
Here, you can enjoy a beautiful sunset while having a delicious meal or cocktail.
Convento das Vinhas stands out as a Portuguese cuisine restaurant offering gastronomic delights, ranging from seafood and fish to meat dishes.
